Cathy's back, Cathy's back, O Happy Day! Welcome back, Catface! Actually, last night I had a dream about her! In it, she was standing in an open doorway. Now, Cathy looked up "doorway" in her dream book, and she said that an open one means "a realization of your highest hopes." So I'm interpreting my dream to mean that Cathy's gonna help me realize those hopes. Yay! For highest hopes realized!

So I had the first rehearsal for Shereen's recital yesterday morning. The rest of the girls (and guy) are great, and I had already met a few of them at the master class we had during the year. I really like the two Purcell pieces, and they shouldn't be too hard to lean in a few weeks. The Merry Widow Gavotte is going to be so great! It's so bawdy and theatrical! I love stuff like that! (Bawdy and theatrical? Me? Well...yea. :-) )

When I got home, Aunt Marie and Christine were already there. They came up so the Sam and I could go to the new David's Bridal with them. Christine's getting married in a year, and Sam and I are in the bridal party, along with my other cousins. (...oy. I know it'll be fine and fun in the end, but right now, I'm not sure if I love the idea or hate it. Sure, we'll get to "bond." But who's gonna clean up all the broken glass?) Anyway, we tried on a few dresses, just to check out the colors. In all honesty, I wasn't really excited by any of them. Maybe it's just that traditional bridesmaid dresses in general don't really excite me. Teffeta. Shudder. At any rate, we had a really nice time looking around (even in the Christmas Tree Shop, where we went to wait out the rain. :-) ) When we got home, Chris and I went through my CD collection looking for wedding songs, and she left with a CD full of good stuff. Incidentally, she made me put that bloody Shania Twain song on it. You know. The one where she breathes right in the middle of the word "because," and it's really annoying? I can't believe she couldn't have waited until the end of the stupid word to breathe, which would have in turn prevented this already cheesy song from becoming cheesy and annoying. Even bad cover bands do this song without breathing in the middle of the word! Anyway, I like Shania, but I'm obsessive, so ya know. Now, back to the wedding songs: Chris doesn't want to have the traditional wedding march during the ceremony, so I suggested a few alternatives to her. She like Pachabel's Canon in D (Miss Pancerev used to complain about playing it cause everyone makes wedding musicians play it. Oh well, you know how I love to perpetuate problems.) Anyway, I mentioned that I had a techno version of it, and she had the idea that she should use the real version during the ceremony, then have the techno version as she was introduced into the hall for the party. She was going to have a lot of techno and house music anyway, so she thought it would blend nicely. Hmm, I can't decide if the idea is tacky or not. Actually, I know it's tacky, but is it the fun kind of tacky or the just plain bad kind of tacky? Anyone reading this--just leave a comment to answer! :-)

Hey! Bout the tackiness, ur right, it is tacky, but its definitely the fun one, b/c its like keeping the idea of the wedding in tact but letting everyone know that its mad party time! Brilliant Idea I think, and shes right, it will blend in quite nicely! Lol yea, so theres my opinion...

I figured this out...I think. It's the fun kind of tacky...not the bad kind (the bad kind is like playing polka music or something).
