Mema's staying at my house this week! Yay! I got to go up to New Paltz for a voice lesson yesterday, and it was absolutely wonderful. It was so great to be able to sing for Kristen again and have real constructive criticism. I've got a lot of music to keep me busy for the next two weeks! I really can't wait to sing Purcell in Shereen's concert--I don't usually sing anything other than showtunes in English (Italian arias are my true love :-) ). I also started working on "Vedrai, Carino" from Don Giovanni, which is the follow up to my NYSSMA piece, "Batti Batti, o Bel Masetto". Do yourself a favor and check out Kathleen Battle's excellent recording of those pieces.

Later!

...Of the Day

Movie: Twister--Man, what a great movie. Bill Paxton. Love him! And I've always loved Helen Hunt's speaking voice. Yes, I notice people's speaking voices. :-) And how beautiful is Jami Gertz? Philip Seymour Hoffman was so good as Dusty, and the chemistry in that whole group of characters is perfect.

Song: I Won't Go Hollywood--Bleu
