Hey there. What a marvelous day. we had the first day of tap class yesterday and I got put into the advanced class. Yay! Which means class didn't start until 10:45 today. Yay again. The tap teacher is AWESOME. She's an older woman and she's really sassy and amazingly talented. She's supposd to be one of the best tap teachers in New York. Also, she has an assistant ( I know! She has an assistant! heh.). I like tap so much more than the rest of the dancing we're doing here. Even if I didn't already know how to do it, I would still like it more because it's so much less strict. I don't mean that the moves don't have to be perfect--they absolutely do, but you're at least allowed to smile when you tap. And the feeling in the room in the tap class is so much more positive than in the ballet and jazz class. I don't know what it is.
After tap today I had my private coaching with Lisa, the accompanist and vocal coach. The woman has a doctorate in vocal accompaniment. She is freaking AMAZING. She can follow anybody and anything and the vocal suggestions she gives me are always so dead on that I wonder why I never did it that way before because it's perfect. And she's so happy and quirky. She's got to be in her 50s but she has the energy of a 20 year old. And she said something about Clay Aiken and then told me that she voted for him for 3 hours straight one night. Hee. She's so cool.

And now lunch. And then more song analysis, which is my favorite class. Yay!

Later!

Your accompanist lady sounds absolutely fantastic! :oD Her "appy and quirky"ness, as you describe her, reminds me of Ms. Santillo. But I guess she's honed her skills a bit more. I mean, no offense to Ms. Santillo. Oh, WHATEVER! lol - Glad you're having fun, mate.
:oD See you when I get back!!
